Despite having a wife, Bailey and Shrimpton move in together, and their partnership sparks controversy when Bailey's unorthodox photos of Shrimpton impress Vogue's editor, Ailsa Garland, but not the magazine's fashion editor, Lady Clare Rendlesham, who demands Bailey's removal.
