Evan, a 30-year-old former foster child, lives a solitary life, writing suicide notes for others. At a client's funeral, he meets Charlotte, the client's sister, who pursues him. Evan keeps his true occupation a secret and forms a friendship with the client's brother. Meanwhile, he begins working with Abel, a composer of elevator music who's struggling with depression. As Evan opens up to Abel about his feelings for Charlotte, he must confront the lies he's told and the impending doom that threatens his relationships.
