Biography

Allan Rich was a renowned character actor, whose prolific career spanned film, television, and theatre. He made a lasting impression on the entertainment industry with his versatility and range.

In 2006, he appeared in the film "My Sexiest Year", alongside Frances Fisher and Frankie Muniz, and was also featured in the documentary "Troupers". The following year, he starred in three upcoming features, "Rise", "Lies & Alibis", and "The Man in the Chair". His recent independent film credits include "The Burial Society", "The Dog Walker", and "Intoxicating", alongside John Savage.

Throughout his career, Allan Rich has accumulated an impressive list of feature film credits, including "Disclosure", "Quiz Show", and "Amistad". He has also made notable appearances in "Jack", "The Rich Man's Wife", and "Curb Your Enthusiasm", among many others.

Born in New York, Allan Rich began his acting career as a teenager, working alongside legendary actors such as Edward G. Robinson, Claude Rains, and Henry Fonda. However, his dreams were shattered when he was caught up in the Red Scare and blacklisted. Undeterred, he turned to Wall Street, where he bought and sold stocks for five years before opening his own brokerage firm.

After selling his firm, Allan Rich turned his attention to fine art, becoming an expert in modern art and opening his own gallery on Madison Avenue. He went on to co-write a screenplay, "Memories of Surrealism", and later returned to the stage in Ronald Ribman's "Journey of the Fifth Horse", alongside a young Dustin Hoffman.

Allan Rich re-launched his film career in 1973, playing the D.A. in "Serpico" alongside Al Pacino. He went on to appear in over 75 television shows, MOWs, and 68 features, including "Frances", "Eating Raoul", and "Guilty By Suspicion".

In addition to his acting career, Allan Rich has also dedicated himself to teaching and mentoring. He developed his own acting technique, which he described in his book "A Leap From the Method". In 1994, he co-founded We Care About Kids, a non-profit organization that produces live-action educational short films for middle and high school youths on socially relevant topics.
