Two families, the Peyser and Tobias, are about to become one as their children, Melissa and Mark, prepare to get married. Jerry Peyser, a risk-averse podiatrist, is marrying Mark, whose father Steve is a CIA agent working undercover as a photocopy machine salesman. Steve's work is always taking over his life, causing him to miss family events.
