In the early 1960s, Raimond Gaita navigates adolescence in Frogmore, Victoria, amidst his family's struggles. His Romanian father works as a farmer, while his German mother, Christina, lives in Melbourne, separated from Romulus. As Romulus searches for a new wife, Raimond faces poverty, physical abuse, and the complexities of adulthood, all while grappling with his own emerging sexuality and longing for stability.
