Terry is an Australian television and political figure, widely recognized for his iconic portrayals of 'Joe Turner' on the enduring television series Bellbird and 'Snr. Sgt. Eric O'Reilly' on the crime drama Cop Shop. Following his departure from Cop Shop in 1982, Terry redirected his career trajectory, opting to pursue a life in politics. He joined the Labor party and successfully secured the seat of Noble Park from 1982 to 1985, subsequently transferring to the Dandenong electorate, where he served from 1985 to 1992. Throughout his tenure in Parliament, Terry held esteemed positions, including Deputy Speaker and Chairman of Parliamentary Committee, showcasing his commitment to public service and leadership.
