A deadly disease spread by cockroaches in Manhattan is killing children. To combat the epidemic, an entomologist develops a mutant insect that produces a toxin to kill the roaches. The mutant breed was designed to die out after one generation, but it unexpectedly survives and evolves into a terrifying, humanoid monster.
