The Pacific War's horrors and Godzilla's specter have faded into memory for Japan. But when a US submarine is destroyed, Admiral Tachibana's concerns escalate. His estranged daughter Yuri, working on a documentary, uncovers the legend of three guardian monsters. As Godzilla, embodying the restless war victims, returns to wreak havoc on the nation for its forgotten suffering, Yuri and her team investigate alongside Admiral Tachibana and the guardian monsters, who fight to defeat the unstoppable and vengeful Godzilla.
