Chicago's Irish violinist Emma Brody, blinded at eight, plays with folk band The Drovers. When womanizing Detective John Hallstrom sees her, he's unaware she's blind. After a corneal transplant, Emma experiences blurred vision and hallucinations. When she reports a mysterious figure to the police, Hallstrom doesn't believe her, but later, as victims from a serial killer mount, he and fellow detectives need her as a witness. Amidst the investigation, Emma and Hallstrom develop feelings for each other, only to discover the killer's motive puts Emma's life in danger.
