A collection of Egyptian artifacts is brought to the Louvre, where a ghostly spirit escapes from a sarcophagus and enters the museum's electrical system. An Egyptologist is called in to examine the findings, and a woman accidentally gets possessed by the spirit after a shock from the electrical system. The possessed woman, disguising herself as the evil spirit Belphegor, steals the museum's rare Egyptian treasures, believing they belong to her. A renowned detective is brought out of retirement to solve the mystery of the missing artifacts.
