Henriette Ragon, better known as Patachou, embarked upon her life's journey on the tenth day of June in the year 1918, in the vibrant city of Paris. Her early years were marked by a variety of occupations, including a stint as a typist, where she honed her skills in the art of data entry, as well as a shop assistant, where she developed her ability to effectively interact with customers. Additionally, she explored the world of antiques, working as an antique dealer, which allowed her to cultivate her appreciation for the finer things in life.
In 1948, Patachou, along with her husband Jean Billon, took the bold step of opening a nightclub in the iconic Montmartre district of Paris, which they named Patachoi. It was within the walls of this establishment that she began to showcase her remarkable vocal talents, captivating the hearts and ears of all who had the pleasure of listening to her. As a result, journalists and music enthusiasts alike bestowed upon her the nickname Patachou, which would become synonymous with her name.
Throughout her illustrious career, Patachou proved to be a mentor and inspiration to numerous younger singers, guiding them along the path to success. While she was primarily recognized as an international vocalist of great renown, she also made a limited number of film appearances before her passing in the year 2015.
