United States Marshal Dave Harmon is sent to Yuma, where he's met with hostility. Upon arrival, he encounters two drunks, but one pulls a gun on him and is killed. Harmon is then accused of killing the brother of powerful Arch King, who operates under his own rules. As tensions rise, Harmon discovers that the other prisoner was also King's brother and that a Mexican boy witnessed the shooting by two men, including a soldier. With King demanding proof of his innocence, Harmon visits the army fort to report the soldier's involvement, only to face resistance from the soldiers who may be connected to the murder of his family years ago.
