The Prowler

In the picturesque California suburb, a chance encounter between a police officer, Webb Garwood, and a beautiful housewife, Susan Gilvray, sets off a chain of events that leads to a deadly scheme. Webb's obsession with Susan grows as they start a torrid affair, but their relationship is cut short when Susan's husband, John, becomes suspicious. Webb's anger and jealousy boil over, and he orchestrates a fake crime scene, making it look like John was accidentally shot. The investigation clears Webb of any wrongdoing, and he quits the police force. He then manipulates John's brother to get close to Susan again, eventually convincing her that he's innocent. They marry, but their happiness is short-lived as Susan reveals she's four months pregnant, raising questions about the baby's paternity and sparking a media frenzy.
