Biography

Noted character actor, Chambers, left an indelible mark on the world of film and television, boasting an impressive résumé of over 200 productions throughout his illustrious career.

Born in the City of Brotherly Love, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, Chambers' formative years were spent in Freehold, New Jersey, where the seeds of his future success were sown.

Later, he made the bold decision to relocate to the San Francisco area, where he embarked upon a new career path as a vacuum salesman, a profession that would prove to be a valuable learning experience.

However, it was the mid-1930s that saw Chambers make the transition to Hollywood, where he would go on to become a mainstay of the motion picture industry, working consistently as an actor until just before his passing at the age of 70 in Los Angeles.

One of his most iconic roles was that of Dr. William R. James in the critically acclaimed film noir, The Prowler (1951),a performance that cemented his status as a talented and versatile actor.

Throughout his life, Chambers remained committed to his craft, working steadily until his untimely death, and is now laid to rest at the Maplewood Cemetery in Freehold, New Jersey.
