In 1188 A.D., Templar Knights trap a creature's head in a box. In the present, Professor Isla Whelan and her assistants discover an Irish glove and map with the name Duncan while researching artifacts. Isla's daughter Shayla finds a hidden space with a box containing a severed head, initially believed to belong to a deformed person or animal. However, the head suddenly screams and the group bleeds through their ears. They learn that the head is from a Banshee, according to Irish mythology, and are doomed to die. Their only hope lies with discredited Professor Broderick Duncan, an expert in Irish mythology's feminine spirits.
