A Very Long Engagement

During the Battle of the Somme, five French soldiers fake their own injuries to escape the war. However, their plan backfires, and they're sentenced to be left in No Man's Land to be finished off by the Germans. As they await their fate, the film explores each soldier's life and the lives of their loved ones, including Methilde, who's struggling to uncover the truth about her fiancé's death due to her own disability from childhood polio.
