Two teenage girls, Carol and Angie, form an unlikely friendship at a local diner, "The Armpit", where Angie works after school. As they bond over shared experiences and support each other, Carol begins to break free from her structured life as a top runner coached by her father. With Angie's influence, Carol starts to rebel and envision a new future for herself. However, the upcoming championship race looms, and Carol must reconcile her newfound independence with her passion for running.
