In the small town of Nebraska, John Farley's childhood was marred by the cruel and humiliating treatment he suffered at the hands of gym teacher Jasper Woodcock. Despite this, John went on to become a successful motivational author and returns to his hometown for a book signing tour. However, his mother announces her plans to marry Woodcock, forcing John to confront his painful past. As he tries to stop the wedding, he enlists the help of his eccentric friends, Nedderman and his brother, but their attempts only lead to a series of comedic mishaps.
