Sergei Kravinoff, a prisoner, kills a drug lord and escapes to reunite with his partner. As he travels, he recalls his past, including a hunting trip with his father and brother to Tanzania, where he was injured by a lion and miraculously healed by a girl named Calypso. Sergei becomes a vigilante known as Kraven, the Hunter, who hunts criminals. When his brother is kidnapped, Kraven must find the man behind the abduction, who turns out to be a powerful competitor named Aleksei "Rhino" Sytsevich, who has superhuman strength and is using mercenaries and hypnotism to defeat his enemies.
