A groundbreaking experiment inadvertently introduces alien life forms to Earth via a laser beam, starting with Howard, a charming, cigar-smoking drake from the planet of ducks. A group of resourceful kids joins forces to protect Howard from grasping scientists and help him return home. However, their heroics are soon put to the test as a more menacing extraterrestrial arrives on the scene.
