A miner spaceship, the USG Ishimura, is transporting a mysterious artifact, the Red Marker, which has a deadly impact on the Aegis VII colony where it was discovered. As the colony descends into chaos, with bizarre suicides and murders, a foreman named Barrow must escape the madness, taking his wife's body with him. But, upon boarding the Ishimura, a shocking and terrifying event befalls his wife.
