Matt, still haunted by the death of a girl from a car accident years ago, struggles with his sense of reality, now shrouded in shadows and phantoms. He takes his new girlfriend Dawn on a weekend getaway, but things take a dark turn when a mysterious stranger attacks him at the motel. As Matt searches for Dawn, he's confronted by her family, who accuse him of murdering the girl years ago. Found guilty, Matt is forced to flee into the woods, pursued by the family, and as he runs deeper into the forest, his grip on reality begins to slip further into the darkness of the Blackwoods.
