Backfire

A wounded veteran, Bob Corey, recovers in a hospital and discovers his friend Steve Connelly has gone missing, with signs pointing to his involvement in a murder. Bob's nurse, Julie Benson, whom he has fallen for, joins him as he uncovers a trail of clues and three more murders, leading to a gambler pretending to be an undertaker to evade taxes on his illicit earnings, and the truth behind Steve's disappearance.
