Two comedy writers, Jerry and David, become friends despite their age difference and neuroses. Jerry, a 21-year-old struggling to leave his comfort zone, is stuck in a relationship with Amanda, who manipulates him. His mentor, David, a 60-year-old teacher, advises Jerry to see their relationship more clearly and to take control of his life.
