In the poor mining town of Estherslope, a young loner named Dick discovers a handgun and feels an unexpected connection to it, despite his strong pacifist beliefs. He forms a secret club called The Dandies with other outcasts, based on the principles of pacifism and gun ownership. As they navigate their new club, they learn that even the most important rules may need to be broken.
