Stranded in a bustling airport, a weary traveler from Eastern Europe transforms a layover into a makeshift home.

In the movie, a man named Victor Navorski arrives at JFK airport, fleeing a country in political turmoil. However, due to the collapse of his government, his travel documents become invalid, leaving him stranded at the airport. He finds solace in the airport's community, forming strong bonds with the people who work there, as he waits for the conflict to subside and the opportunity to leave.
