A military academy, Buxley Hall, is struggling financially and decides to merge with an all-girls school. However, the founder's ghost and his sergeant are opposed to the idea and try to stop it. Meanwhile, a new student, Jeremy Ross, arrives, an heir to a fortune who is being kept by his uncle. His aunt seeks to gain control of his wealth by getting rid of him, but the sergeant befriends Jeremy and helps him navigate the situation.
