A lone samurai, Sanjuro, becomes embroiled in a web of local politics when he discovers a clan's Superintendent is secretly plotting to seize power by framing the Chamberlain for corruption. As the Superintendent orchestrates the Chamberlain's downfall, Sanjuro must use his wits and swordsmanship to protect the outnumbered Chamberlain's staff and foil the Superintendent's sinister plan.
