A reclusive scientist, once driven to create clean energy for impoverished nations, goes into hiding after his discovery is hijacked by his employers, who aim to weaponize it. He assumes a new identity, living off the grid in a small European village, where he spends his days alone in a cabin he built. Occasional interactions with the locals, including tutoring a brilliant young student, are disrupted when his former employers track him down.
