In 33 A.D., Emperor Tiberius is troubled by strange occurrences, including an earthquake and a black sky. He summons Tito Valerio Tauro, a renowned investigator, to uncover the truth behind the death of Jesus of Nazareth, a Judean rabbi who is rumored to have resurrected from the dead. Tauro, a skeptic, is tasked with discovering the truth behind Jesus' resurrection and the celestial omens that shook the world. As he delves deeper into the mystery, he encounters a series of enigmatic characters, including Saul of Tarsus, Judas of Iscariot, and Simon Peter, who are all obsessed with an idea of faith that Tauro cannot comprehend.
