Emanuela Ponzano is a multifaceted creative force, simultaneously exceling as a writer, director, and actress in both the cinematic and theatrical realms. Born in Brussels, she divides her time between Rome, Brussels, and Paris, allowing her to draw inspiration from the unique cultural landscapes of each city.
Emanuela's academic background is rooted in science politics, having earned her degree from the University of Brussels in 1995. She subsequently honed her craft at the prestigious Conservatoire Royal of Liege, graduating from the Drama National school in 2000.
As an actress, Emanuela has had the privilege of working with a diverse range of directors, including John Irvin, Philippe Garrel, Maurizio Zaccaro, Giulio Base, René Manzor, V. De Sisti, T. Shermann, Edo Tagliavini, and Giorgio Serafini, to name a few. Her extensive portfolio includes roles in both cinema and television productions.
Emanuela's talent has been recognized with several notable awards, including a nomination for the Theatre Award at the "Prix Jacques Huisman" in Brussels, Belgium, in 2006. In 2008, she won the National Artistic Award "Filomena Carrara" for her outstanding performance in Italy.
As a director, Emanuela has successfully brought her vision to life through her short films, "BagnAsciuga" and "Riflessi". Both films were showcased at numerous national and international film festivals, including the Rutger Hauer's "I've seen films" IIF in Milan, where "Riflessi" won three National prices in 2010.
Emanuela's latest short film, "The Sled", premiered in 2016 and has since been selected in over 110 international film festivals, earning more than 40 awards and qualifying for the Oscar race in 2018. Her most recent short film, "Una Nuova Prospettiva", had its world premiere at the TFF38 Torino Film Festival and has been nominated for the National press award.
Currently, Emanuela is developing the script for her first feature film, which has been awarded the National Ministry film fund in Italy.
