In a struggling rural community, a teenager named Evan starts working at a rundown bait shop that's slated to be sold for a new subdivision. His supervisor, Ross, a pink-haired and outspoken individual, helps Evan grow closer as they work together. Through their job, Evan discovers Ross' complex inner world, involving his sister and the son of their boss, a figure with a rough reputation. As Evan learns more about Ross and his world, he begins to question his own biases and struggles with the rapid changes happening in his small town.
