The story follows Shari Adams, an artist who has moved back to Baltimore after her divorce from her diplomat husband. She has been accepted into an artists co-operative and is trying to restart her art career and figure out her romantic life. She meets Evan James, the owner of the co-op, and they form a connection. Evan is also searching for his paternal grandmother's art, which she had to sell to make ends meet when she was younger.
