In a tumultuous 1999 Argentina, a young Jewish man named Ariel navigates his mother's terminal illness, a dead-end job, and the search for his first sexual experience. Meanwhile, a middle-aged man named Santamaria faces unemployment and abandonment by his wife, finding solace in returning stolen wallets to their owners. As Ariel shares Santamaria's story with a TV reporter, Laura, who is in a same-sex relationship, he begins to develop feelings for her. Santamaria, on the other hand, pursues Elsa, a washroom attendant whose husband is incarcerated. As Christmas and Hanukkah approach, the characters must confront their own struggles and desires in search of human connection.
