Imanol Arias embarked on a remarkable journey in the world of theatre, commencing his career with a travelling troupe in Spain, where he had the opportunity to hone his craft and gain valuable experience performing in the culturally rich and vibrant region of Euskadi, also known as the Basque Country.
As he continued to develop his skills, Arias began to take on minor roles on stage, laying the foundation for his future success in the entertainment industry. However, it was his next move that would prove to be a significant turning point in his career, as he decided to travel to the picturesque island nation of Cuba to participate in the filming of the critically acclaimed movie "Cecilia" in 1982, under the direction of the renowned filmmaker Humberto Solás.
Years later, in 1987, Arias would achieve a major milestone in his career, winning the prestigious Concha de Plata award at the San Sebastian Film Festival for his outstanding performance in the biographical drama "El Lute: Run for Your Life", a film directed by the acclaimed Spanish filmmaker Vicente Aranda. This role, based on the life of Eleuterio Sánchez, a notorious Spanish thief, showcased Arias' incredible range as an actor and cemented his position as a leading figure in the world of Spanish cinema.
