Diggstown background

Diggstown

In the gritty drama, a reformed ex-con is convinced by an old friend to make a bold bet with the owner of Diggstown, pitting their skilled boxer against the town's residents in a series of ten matches.

In the movie Diggstown, Gabriel Caine, a recently released convict, makes a bold bet with a wealthy businessman who owns most of the boxing-obsessed town. The wager is that Gabe can find a boxer capable of knocking out ten local men within a 24-hour period. Enter "Honey" Roy Palmer, a 48-year-old contender who's deemed too old by many. Meanwhile, a subplot explores the story of Charles Macum Diggs, the former heavyweight champion who gave the town its name, now confined to a wheelchair.
