Dead Man's Trail

Johnny Mack Brown, a determined Texas Ranger, is hot on the trail of Walt Winslow, a clever fugitive who escaped from prison after a daring $100,000 express robbery with no signs of stolen loot.

Johnny Mack Brown, a Texas Ranger, is tasked with capturing Walt Winslow, an escaped convict who robbed an express company of $100,000. Brown finds Walt fatally wounded after a stagecoach holdup and learns that Walt's brother, Dan, is working at a nearby bank. Dan's brother, Walt, had given him a crude oil painting before his death, which holds the key to finding the stolen loot. However, a corrupt deputy sheriff, Kelvin, frames Dan for the crime and the sheriff is killed, leading to Dan's imprisonment.
