In Leadville, Colorado, a military unit quarantines the town to contain a deadly outbreak. As the local hospital fills with sick patients, a group of survivors, including Corporal Sarah Bowman and Private Bud Crain, discover that the infected have turned into flesh-eating zombies. They flee the hospital and head to the town exit, but Sarah is drawn to a radio signal of her brother's voice and joins a group of survivors seeking shelter at an isolated army base.
