Cape of Good Hope

The complex relationships between three women unfold, exposing the profound impact they have on one another's lives.

In this film, a diverse group of individuals from different walks of life come together at an animal shelter in Cape Town, each with their own struggles and secrets. Kate, the shelter manager, navigates a complicated love life and a difficult relationship with her father, while also developing feelings for a widowed veterinarian. Meanwhile, Lindiwe, a single mother, studies at night while working as a domestic for an Afrikaner household. Her son forms an unlikely bond with Jean Claude, a refugee from Congo with a passion for astronomy, who is hoping to immigrate to Canada. Shairfa and her husband Habib, who work together at the shelter, face the challenges of infertility. As these characters' stories intertwine, they search for answers to life's big questions, including what holds the universe together.
