Two outlaws, Jim Hawkins and Wahoo Jones, seek their missing partner Sam McGee in Texas. They join the Texas Rangers, but instead of giving up their criminal ways, they use their inside knowledge to further their own interests. However, as they work to pacify rebellious Native Americans, they begin to adopt the Rangers' code of honor, and Jim catches the eye of the major's daughter. As the frontier becomes more civilized, Jim, Wahoo, and Sam must decide whether to continue their life of crime or choose a path of righteousness.
