In a small Texas town, a couple of teenagers vanish, leading Sheriff Jeff to enlist the help of Clarence Winstead, a garage mechanic and leader of a hot-rod gang. As a series of fatal car crashes rocks the town, a giant Gila monster is revealed to be behind the disappearances, targeting hot-rodding teens and heading to the town's BIG record-hop party.
