The film revolves around Sita, the Hindu Goddess from "The Ramayana", who joins Lord Rama on a 14-year forest exile. However, Sita is kidnapped by Ravana, the ruler of Lanka. The movie intertwines the story of Rama and Sita with a personal account of the director's marriage.
