A clothing manufacturer, Sam Stone, marries his wife Barbara for her inheritance, but her father doesn't die for 15 years. He plans to kill her, but things take a surprising turn when he receives a call from someone claiming to have kidnapped Barbara. As the story unfolds, Sam discovers that the kidnappers are a couple who feel he stole their idea, and Barbara turns out to be more deadly than expected. Meanwhile, Sam's girlfriend Carol has her own plans to blackmail him, and the Chief of Police becomes entangled in the mess.
