Gary Riley, the talented actor who brought laughter and joy to audiences as the endearing character "Dave" in the 1987 summer blockbuster films, was born on April 28th, 1967, in Los Angeles county. His most iconic role, however, remains that of "Charlie Hogan" in the beloved coming-of-age drama "Stand By Me". Riley's impressive acting skills were showcased in various films, including the comedy classic "Planes, Trains, and Automobiles", where he played a cunning thief who steals from Steve Martin's character's wallet. He also appeared as a naive metalhead customer in the dark comedy "Ruthless People", alongside Judge Reinhold's character, who struggles to resist the urge to scam him after discovering his girlfriend's pregnancy. In 1986, Riley auditioned for the roles of "Bill S. Preston Esquire" and Ted "Theodore" Logan in the cult classic "Bill & Ted's Excellent Adventure", ultimately being one of the final picks, along with Keanu Reeves.
