In 19th century Cornwall, a young orphan named Mary is sent to live with her Aunt Patience and Uncle Joss, who own the Jamaica Inn. However, Mary soon discovers that her uncle's inn is a hub for a group of ship wreckers, who intentionally lure ships to crash on the rocky coastline, putting Mary's life at risk.
