Yimou Zhang, a renowned Chinese film director and writer, took his first breath on November 14, 1951, in the ancient city of Xi'an, located in the province of Shaanxi, China. Over the course of his illustrious career, he has left an indelible mark on the world of cinema, garnering widespread recognition for his masterful direction of iconic films such as "Hero" (2002),"House of Flying Daggers" (2004),and "Curse of the Golden Flower" (2006).
As a devoted family man, Zhang has been blessed with a loving partnership with Ting Chen, whom he wed in December 2011. Together, they have been blessed with three children, who no doubt bring immense joy and fulfillment to their lives.
Prior to his current union, Zhang has been married twice before, first to Hua Xiao and then to Hua Xie.
