Yvonne Senat Jones was born in Dallas, Texas, and is proud of her Haitian-Bolivian heritage, with a strong foundation in the Spanish language. This early exposure to diversity has undoubtedly influenced her artistic pursuits.
Her passion for acting began to unfold at El Camino College, where she initially honed her craft. She then transferred to Cal State Long Beach, graduating with a Bachelor of Arts in Theatre Arts. This solid foundation led her to receive a full scholarship to the University of South Carolina, where she earned her Master of Fine Arts in Acting.
Yvonne's commitment to giving back to her community is evident through her work with City Hearts LA, a non-profit organization that brings the arts to schools that might not otherwise have the resources to fund such programs.
Her big break came when Emmy-Award winning casting director Robi Reed cast her in the role of Robyn Crawford in the BET movie "The Bobby Brown Story". The cast won the NAACP Image Award for Best TV Movie.
A year later, she landed the recurring role of Tally in Tyler Perry's hit drama "The Oval". Perry later expanded her role to a series regular lead in his spin-off, "Ruthless".
Her Disney+ TV musical feature, "Sneakerella", won the 2022 Emmy for Outstanding Fiction Special. In this film, she earned the title of Disney's first Afro-Latina Queen, Denise King.
She also appeared in the supporting role of Laurel opposite Winona Ryder in "Gone In The Night", which is currently streaming on Hulu and Amazon Prime.
In March 2023, Yvonne can be seen in the recurring guest star role of Janice Rojas-Pierre in the Disney+ original sports drama "The Crossover", directed by George Tillman Jr. and executive produced by LeBron James.
And on Mother's Day 2023, she will be seen in her supporting role opposite Jennifer Lopez in "The Mother" on Netflix, directed by Niki Caro.
Yvonne and her husband, Charles Jones, are the proud owners of the production company, MFB Entertainment.
