Yves Caumon, a talented film director, made the decision to return to his native region of Gaillac, near Toulouse, after completing his studies at the prestigious FEMIS film school. It was during this time that he began directing a series of critically acclaimed short films, including La beauté du monde in 1999. One of these shorts, Les filles de mon pays, also released in 1999, went on to receive the esteemed Jean Vigo Award in the year 2000.
Caumon's first feature-length film, Boyhood Loves, premiered in 2001 and garnered a prize at the renowned Cannes Film Festival. His second and most recent feature film to date, Cache cache, was shot during the summer of 2005 and serves as both a delightful children's film and an allegoric tale that thoughtfully explores the themes of social class and economic inequality.
