Yuliya Borisova is a renowned Russian actress, widely recognized for her iconic film role as Ambassador Kollontay in the 1970 film "Posol Sovetskogo Soyuza".

Born Yuliya Konstantinovna Borisova on March 17, 1925, in Russia, she began her journey in the world of acting by studying at the Shchukin Theatrical School of the Vakhtangov Theatre in Moscow from 1944 to 1947. Under the guidance of Boris Zakhava, she graduated in 1947 and made her stage debut the same year, taking on the roles of Hero in Shakespeare's "Much Ado About Nothing" and Julia in "Two Gentlemen from Verona".

Since 1947, Borisova has been a proud member of the Vakhtangov Theatre troupe in Moscow, sharing the stage with notable actors such as Mikhail Ulyanov, Mikhail Astangov, Ruben Simonov, Boris Zakhava, Vladimir Etush, Varvara Popova, Irina Kupchenko, Natalya Tenyakova, Lyudmila Maksakova, Lyudmila Tselikovskaya, Marianna Vertinskaya, Nina Ruslanova, Alla Kazanskaya, Nikolai Plotnikov, Vasiliy Lanovoy, Yuriy Yakovlev, Vyacheslav Shalevich, Andrei Abrikosov, Grigori Abrikosov, Boris Babochkin, Nikolai Gritsenko, Nikolai Timofeyev, Aleksandr Grave, Evgeniy Karelskikh, Sergey Makovetskiy, Viktor Zozulin, Evgeniy Knyazev, and Ruben Simonov, among many others.

Throughout her illustrious career, Borisova has delivered unforgettable performances, including her iconic roles as Anisia in "Nazolotom dne" by Mamin-Sibiryak (1955) and Cleopatra in Shakespeare's "Antony and Cleopatra" (1971). Since taking on the role of Princess Turandot in 1963, she has continued to deliver acclaimed performances in the legendary Vakhtangov's production of Carlo Gozzi's comedy "Princess Turandot".

Yuliya Borisova's remarkable contributions to the world of Russian theatre have been recognized with numerous accolades, including being designated People's Actress of Russia (1961) and People's Actress of the USSR (1969). She has been awarded the State Prize of Russia twice (1966, 1985),decorated with the Order of Lenin (1971),and designated Hero of Socialist Labour (1985). In recognition of her outstanding achievements, the Supreme Theatrical Prize of Moscow is titled the "Crystal Turandot" in her honor, and she was the first recipient of the prize in 1991.
