Biography

Yoson An is a Chinese-born actor who made the bold decision to leave his homeland behind and embark on a new journey in New Zealand at a very young age.

As he began his acting career in 2012, he has rapidly accumulated an impressive array of credits to his name, featuring in a diverse range of international feature films, including the blockbuster hits The Meg, Mortal Engines, and Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon, as well as taking on lead roles in local films such as Mega Time Squad and the cult classic Ghost Bride.

In 2018, Yoson landed the highly coveted role of the romantic lead in Disney's Live-Action Mulan, a testament to his impressive range and versatility as an actor.

Television has also been a significant platform for Yoson, with notable appearances in the HBO Asia mini-series Grace, where he portrayed the complex and intriguing character of 'Ricky Wu' in the original horror-thriller; he also starred as the series lead 'Charlie' in SBS TV's gripping crime thriller Dead Lucky, alongside the talented Rachel Griffiths; showcased his comedic chops as 'Justin' in Warner Bros. comedy series Fresh Eggs, shot on location in New Zealand; and most recently, brought to life the character of 'Sook' in BBC's The Luminaries.
